About Us
Prior to starting Aardvark Sweeping in 1996, Carl Barton was the General Manager for Pepsi Cola in Memphis & New Orleans. One night a frustrated colleague said to him “I’ll get a broom and sweep parking lots before I work here the rest of my life.”
Carl thought about that. He called some of the store managers that he knew and asked how they got their parking lots cleaned. The store managers said they had tried all of the services in town and had not been satisfied with the service. In fact, they said they would be more than willing to change to another company.
After more research, he decided to take the plunge and started Aardvark Sweeping Services, now by far the largest power sweeping company in Memphis, and we believe the best.
Running complex operations taught Carl that consistency, systems, and accountability matter—and those principles still guide Aardvark today.
